    San Jose, CA Lunch

    Hello all,

As we all know, there is a new format for the CCIE R&S Lab Exam.  My question is, when will candidates be allowed to eat lunch??  Is it after the TSHOOTING section or do you go during the CONFIGURATION section??

    Thank you!

    plee725,

During my 3 visits to San Jose, Lunch started between 11 and 11:30 AM - this would still be during the configuration section.

8 AM + 30 min EOQ - 90 min TS = 10 AM. (Going from memory on the EOQ and TS times, since there was no EOQ or TS when I was there.)

This is true, you have no choice but to finish the Troubleshooting section before lunch unless you are really late to the exam in which case you would be in trouble b/c once that timer is done couting down that section is done, finito, finsihed. Unlike the config section there is no timer just the proctor clapping his hands and telling you to leave while waiving goodbye.

For the 2 times that I've gone to SJC, we started the exam around 8:30 (after intros), then went to lunch at 11:30am.  You get 30 minutes for OEQ and 2 hours for troubleshooting.  Both times, I started in on the config section for at least 30 minutes before the proctor called time for lunch.

Thank you everyone for your input!  I want to be as mentally prepared as possible for the lab (no surprises).  Yes

    Hello Plee725,

It is a great idea to be mentally prepared. As a note, you can often visit the lab location the previous day, and often times the proctor will allow you view the lab room, so that you can get the stress of wondering what it will be like out of the way. Just go to the building, and ask the receptionist if the proctor will allow you to come back to the lab.

    Good luck on your attempt!
